Sreenivas: I found it very interesting but a little hard going. I read a little of the life of Bhaskaraya from the life sketch cited by you, who appeared to have lived in Tanjore District. It mentions that Bhaskaraya was an admirer of Appayya Dikshita who also lived in Tanjore District two centuries prior to Bhaskararaya: my wife is descended directly from Appayya through her father. He was an advaitin who lived in the 16th century. Was Appayya also involved in Devi worship and in Tantric practices ? Also, my wife has inherited my late mother's Sri Chakra and prays to it every day. I also recite a devi stotra every day. Are there any specified procedures in Devi worship ?

Mr. Natarajan: Welcome. It was nice to see you visit. Yes, It will not work if all members of the family are not involved. In Deepa's case my wife, my two sons and I initially chose her to join the family and then my parents looked after her until she could come to the united States. That is one reason why she was successfully brought into the family fold.

Sandeep: This is wonderful. I have been to Singapore twice, the first time over thirty years ago when it was a little backwater recently sundered from Malaysia by Lee Kwan's imaginative declaration of independence and the second time more recently. I have not taken this tour, I shall take it the next time I go. Rgds, Girdhar
Rakhee: Family history is important as it gives the building blocks of why we do certain things or why certain things come out a certain way.Our reason for our choice was essentially a pretty ordinary one: we wanted to have a daughter and we wanted to be sure about it. I love a poem I learnt in College by Thomas Grey which says:
Full many a gem of purest ray serene
The dark unfathomed caves of ocean bear
Full many a flower is born to blush unseen
And waste its sweetness in the desert air
In this case Deepa was a wonderful flower that refused to to waste its sweetness friendless and abandoned.

Aditi: Yes this has required riding upstream, but my immediate family got used to my doing so and adjusted to it: as they have done to similar sojourns of mine in other areas. In some cases these effort has been no less arduous, but definitely less rewarding .

Jaijui: A touch of Brahm Stoker. But very imaginative. I have heard of man eating leopards at Sanjay Gandhi National Park but Vampires ??

Thank You Anjala: Deepa had control of this release. I invited her to read it after I had finished the blog: only on her OK and my wife Indira's review did I release the blog.

Ixedoc: This is a wonderful vignette of your life: You absolutely did the right thing. As Kabir says: Jo Thoko Kanta Buvai, He who spreads thorns on thy path Thai boi tho Phool You spread flowers before his instead Thoko Phool ke Phool Hai, Your flowers by their presence Bako Hai Thirshul Will bite him as a Trishul would I do not know if your old professor felt that bite, because there are people inured and without conscience, but you had the satisfaction of having done the right thing. Thanks, Girdhar
Ranjini: Welcome ! I found this blog cathartic to write: we were blessed by her arrival as we were blessed when our our sons arrived. Thank you for coming and for the recommendation.
