India Needs Five Bowlers in Test Cricket

The Indian attack in Madras lacked penetration. India felt the lack of a fifth bowler in the Test side. This can be done by rotating one of the senior players: For the second India S Africa Test, the path for this has been eased by the injury that Tendulkar has sustained. Thus the team for the Second Test should be:

Sehewag
Jaffer
Dravid
Laxman
Ganguly
Dhoni(WK)
Pathan
Kumble(C)
Harbhajan
Kartik or Sreesanth(depending on whether the pitch suits a spinner better
Sharma (Hopefully he will be amongst the fit)

India lacked the ability to push through its advantage of a first innings lead in the Madras Test. Kartik is a wily left arm spinner who has been ignored to India's detriment. Kaif or Yuvraj's inclusion will improve the fielding but it will at the expense of an allrounder like Pathan which to me does not make sense. I would in fact consider dropping Ganguly and taking on Yuvraj or Kaif. Using Sehwag as a fifth bowler will amount to more of the same, as Harbhajan is in the team as a prime off spinner.
