Mr. Rao, Your  list  indicates the enormity of the problem. I do not know whether the riot and counter riot or bombing is the answer. It may be the reality, but somebody or some event or some movement should short circuit the process and bring some sanity on the discourse and in the relationship between Hindu and Muslim, the two main religious groups in this country.

I read comments here and the blog of Dr Kartha and only one comment he received there though I thought his has greater validity and truthful points! Questions that arise are:
Are solutions possible? if so, what measures need to be taken at citizen level?
Are the citizens being collectively punished for the fault of the politicians?
Is secularism as an experiment failing?
Is citizen "backlash" normal?
Is citizen "backlash" universal? if true in other countries (like European naitons) too?
Has our citizens' immediate "backlash" excessive very "often"?
Has there been unprovoked violence on the both sides of Hindu-Muslim divide? If so, who does it more often?
Is sectarian/communal violence common in other countries where there are no Hindus?
What is the role of moderate muslims in eliminating this threat?
What is the role of moderate muslims in NATION BUILDING?
What is the role of moderate muslims in eliminating poverty among themselves - say of dalit muslims?
Given politics and politicans are inevitable, which party has done a good job over several years - i.e. over a long time?
Which party is the target of most attacks?
Which religious group is the target of most attacks? Sikhs, Jains, Christians or Hindus?
Which religious place of worship in India is the target of most attacks? Sikhs' Gurudwara , Jains' temples, Christians' churches or Hindus' temples?
Doesn't that mean  ordinary citizens of one religion are under attack more than others?
Is rule of Hindus by Hindus for Hindus like Christian rule in Christian USA/UK/EU (or Islamic rule in Islamic nations) commonly called democracy but not rule by minority clique) possible in India?
Is there a connection between demonizing of one party and death or murder of  members of that party?
Why are the communists and naxals most violent in India and not in other countries?
Are they agents of Islamists?
What is the role of Pakistan in all this?
Are there too many "revenge" (action and multiple reaction) attacks by people of one religion not by others?
Are there more ordinary Hindus siding with muslims or more ordinary muslims siding with Hindus in this matter?
What compensaiton is needed for the victims? Who should be made to pay for it?
What is the history of compensaiton to the victims of hatred?
Has there been more temples destroyed or churches or mosques in percent terms in each decade of the last several centuries?
Has there been more HIndus killed or muslims or Christian in percent terms in each decade of the last several centuries?
What has been the role of Christians in this matter between Hindus and muslims?
Have the pro-life Catholics been helpful in protesting and curbing against islamic violence?
How any such protest rallies have we seen in the past?
Which  religious group has been been most often initiating riot or terror violence? etc etc.

I may come up with more questions if I get more time!!

I welcome answers from one and all!!!!!!!

Best Regards,

Wish there will be a day when all of us think like this....

Rama Rao Garu:: I think the next two or three decades will be rather painful to all of us. About the US contribution to the increase in fundamentalism, particularly in Afghanistan and Pakistan, my blog on Blowback(or unintended consequences) also deals with what you have so elequently written here.

DW: Layered on top of of this fractured pyramid is  the dishonesty and self centered acquisitiveness amongst the politicians. You sometimes wonder whether they ever think beyond themselves. ever ?

Giridhar Gopal garu,

I can understand ur anger and anguish in the blog. Man has been killing other men in the name of God since time immemorial. Even people of the same religion used to kill/ill treat others who differed from their faith. The fight in Northern Ireland was between the Catholics and Protestants. In Pakistan an Islamic state the sunnis and shites fight each other. They dont think that Ahmediyas are Muslims at all and relegated them to the status of a minority. In our Hinduism we at one stage had killings between the Vishnavites and Shivites. Now the killings go in the name of caste.
But with the spread of education the threshold of tolerance increased and the modern society mostly shuns killing people in the name of God. ( Don't ask me about Northern Ireland).
Unfortunately the Islamic countries allow, encourage and fund the Madrasaas where religious hatred is brerwed. These schools are funded by several Govts.
I think the Madrasaas should be banned altogether in our country but this needs a lot of political will, which no party has.
Although it may sound rediculous prima facie terrorism was started by the CIA and FBI. The USA had many schools run by the ex-soldiers in training people in gurella warfare and handling of explosives. The USA funded and provided arms liberally to the Afghans mainly to overthrow the Russians. Those funds and arms were misused and this policy boomeranged on the USA. They kept pouring arms and money into Pakistan mainly to fight Taliban and Al Quieda but as the saying goes' Once you set fire to the heather you never know how far the flames will spread. In my personal opinion the two countries mainly responsible for the spread of terrorism are Saudi Arabi and USA two rich countries.
Terrorism can be eradicated only by a concerted and co-ordinated action of all countries to ensure banning of production of arms and ammunition outside Govt ordnance factories and checking the falling of these weapons/ammo into the hands of any unauthorised person irrespective of his faith and political ideology.
This is not going to happen in our life time, So we have to weep and endure it.
Ramarao.
